Your First Login

The first thing you need to do, is log in as the Admin and change your password. By default, Tiki sets the initial password to admin.

 Note

If you installed your Tiki from the installer, you already changed the default password as part of the installation and logged in.

Jump ahead and start using the wizards to configure your site.

  1. Click the Log In button at the top of the page.
  2. In the Login box at the top of the page, type admin as the username and your administrator password.

The Login module allows users to log into your site.

 Note

For security, the password is not shown.

 Tip

If you forget your password, don't panic. The I forgot my password feature can be used to recover a lost password. You can also reset passwords directly from the database.

Tiki's robust group and permission settings allow you to control who sees what. This makes it easy to give users who visit your Tiki a unique experience depending on their account.

We'll discuss this later in the Using Permissions section.

Now that you're logged in (as the admin), you can start customizing Tiki to add the features you want. Let's begin by exploring the by Using the Control Panels.
