Adding Pictures
Remember enabling the Images option as part of configuring the wiki? Let's add a picture to the Home page.
Note
In addition to adding pictures by uploading them (as described here), you can also select files that have already uploaded. See Using Files in Wiki Pages for more information.
To begin:
- On the Home page, click Edit. The Edit page appears.
- Click the Choose or upload images button. The Upload File window appears.
Tip
Click Advanced Mode to include additional a custom title or description for the image file. - Click Choose files and select an image from your PC.
or
Click and drag the image from your PC desktop to the Drop files area in the Upload File window. - Click Upload. After successfully uploading the file, Tiki shows you a thumbnail of the image (generated automatically).
Tip
You can specify the size of the thumbnail when Configuring File Galleries.
Click Additional Info to display the necessary HTML and wiki code to use this image in a page. - Click Insert. Tiki closes the Upload window and automatically inserts the necessary wiki syntax to the Edit area:
{img fileId="1" thumb="box]"}
- On the Edit page, click Save. Tiki saves the information, and reloads the page with the picture.
By default, Tiki displays a thumbnail of the image. Click the image to see the full-size image.
Note
Editing Pictures
After adding a picture, you can customize how the image appears on the wiki page.
From the HomePage:
- Select Page Actions > Edit Icons. Tiki now shows the Edit Plugin button below the image.
- Click the Plugin edit button. The Image Plugin window appears.
Note
If the Plugin edit button is not visible, click the Toggle edit icons button at the top of the page.
- Use the Image window to edit any of the attributes for the image. Let's make some changes to the image:
- Thumbnail: Select None. This will show the image as full-size.
- Link: Enter the URL of another website. This will make the image click-able.
- Click the Advanced options button.
- In the Align image field select Right.
- Click Submit. Tiki reloads the HomePage — notice that the image is now aligned to the right side of the page.
Tiki now shows the image full-size, right-aligned,... and it is clickable.
See Installing and Accessing Plugins for more information on using the Plugin editor and help.
See the Tiki documentation for complete information (including available options) for using images in wiki pages.
