Adding a Search Bar
If you remember, you enabled the search feature when you configured the Tiki features. Tiki includes a default Search module that you can configure and add to your site.
You can add the search module to the Top Bar area of Tiki, just like adding any other module.
- From the Admin menu in the Menu module, select Admin > Modules.
Tip
You can also access the Admin: Modules page by using the Modules link in the Quick Admin area. - On the Assigned Modules tab, click Add Module.
- In the Assign New Module area, select the Search module and click Module Options.
- In the Edit this module, click the Basic tab.
- Enter the following information in each field on the Basic tab:
- Position: Topbar
- Groups: Anonymous
- Click the Appearancetab.
- Enter the following information in each field on the Appearance tab:
- No Box: y
- Click Assign. Tiki prompts for confirmation, then saves the page and adds the search module to the top bar area:
By default, the search bar includes the following buttons:
- Search: Performs a full-text search.
- Go Automatically opens the specified wiki page. If it does not exist, performs a search.
- Edit: Allows you to edit (or create) wiki pages. The button appears only if the visitor has permission to create and edit pages.
