Submitting Articles

When you created an article earlier, it became "live" immediately. As the admin, any articles that you create are automatically approved.

Do you remember enabling the Submissions options on the Articles: Administration page? You also granted Anonymous users permission to submit articles This allows other users to submit articles for publication.

You can test this submission process now:

  1. Log out as the admin. You are now viewing the site as an Anonymous visitor.
  2. From the Main Menu (that you created earlier), select Submit News.
    This page is identical to the Edit Article page that you used earlier, to create a new article.
    File not found.
  3. Enter the following information in each field on the Edit Article page:
    • Title: Enter a title for your article.
    • Author Name: Since you are viewing the site as an Anonymous visitor, this field is blank. Enter your name here.
    • Topic: Select the new article topic that you created earlier.
    • Type: Select Article.
    • Heading: Enter a short description or introduction to the article.
    • Body: Enter the main article text.
  4. Click Submit Article. Tiki saves the information.

     Note

    Because you are viewing the site as an Anonymous visitor, you must enter the CAPTCHA before submitting the article.

Your article is not visible because it has not been published. Only users with permission can see and approve submitted articles.

Approving Submissions

  1. Log in as the admin. The Administrator has permission to approve article submissions.
  2. From the Menu, select Articles > View Submissions. Tiki displays the submitted articles:
    File not found.
  3. Select one of the following options:
    • Click Edit (Edit ) to review or edit the article before approving it.
    • Click Approve (Approve ) to approve the article.
    • Click Remove (Remove ) to delete the submission.

    Upon approval, the article will be "live" for all visitors (with permission to read published articles).
